Royal Greetings Global RasTafari Family,  in the Mighty names of Emperor Haile Selassie I and Empress Menen Asfaw. Heartical greetings of love, faith, and solidarity from the Rastafari Mansions and Organizations (RMO) in Jamaica - the multi-member body livicated to the organization, I-nification, and centralization of the Rastafari Nation.

As Jamaica wakes up after the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa on October 28, InI give thanks for the global family’s outpouring of love, concern, and willingness to support. InI regret to inform that in addition to widespread loss of individual homes and livelihoods - including those of several RMO Executive members - all Rastafari communal spaces across the western parishes have been flattened or severely damaged. This destruction represents a serious and significant setback to InI progress, community advancement and preservation of Rastafari heritage.

The scale and depth of the damage shows that the road to recovery will be a long and  challenging one. Yet InI draw strength from His Imperial Majesty’s call:

“We must become bigger than we have been - more courageous, greater in spirit, larger in outlook.”

It is in this spirit - the Ultimate Challenge - that InI now appeal to the global RasTafari Family to support and promote the RMO fund-raising campaign, either by contributing directly or by sharing the GoFundMe link widely across your networks. 
Also attached is a one-page infographic outlining an ambitious 3-phase plan for Rastafari-led relief efforts in support of the Rastafari family and wider community which will require  strong global support and partnership in the short, medium, and long term.

Today, the rising pressures of climate change, food insecurity, global instability, and post-disaster vulnerability make Rastafari central spaces, in Jamaica and worldwide, even more critical for InI survival, dignity, and sovereignty. Now more than ever, His Majesty’s call to Organize and Centralize must guide InI forward.

Despite the level of destruction, the Rastafari Family in Jamaica is determined to Rise Up stronger, with resilience and inity of purpose and look forward to deeper and wider partnerships with the global RasTafari community as InI rebuild together.
